Gezora Update

Yo, I know in the last entry I said I found out Gezora is alive (and that I was working on a project over Spring Break, but that is still ongoing because I overestimated my meager abilities as I so often do), but I messaged our ol' mod and got a response!

I won't reproduce it in full since it ain't pivotal bar info or something, but the user is ok and thriving. He has some cool job with insects that takes up like, half of every month with field work. That's why he stopped hanging around, work! He says he will try to drop by this year when he isn't working, so that will be nice!

His opinion on the rp explosion: He seems to be overwhelmed. The multiple characters, dramas, and romance all kinda surprised him, its probably just the sheer change in procedure that threw him off, but whatever, I can only speculate!

He said an assistant bartender might be helpful since the user Gezora has business to do sometimes, and that was pretty much my boiled down version of the PM.

I responded to the pm and told him some stuff, like how we are going to try and renovate the bar's topic structure next year, that the lack of a mod was felt sometimes and that I was a bit of the de facto RP mod (because I would feel dirty not telling him :/) , and how Walter was an assistant bartender and Gezora was still serving drinks and reffing. I also said we miss him mucho mucho and would love to even just see him a bit again.

This message is kinda old (from pretty soon after my last blog) but my "big plans" have distracted me from telling you how our ol' barsquid is doing!

Other junk on the agenda: JRM is going through story stuff during this break between zoofights so I can do some plot/character things next year. I have a few "theme-exempt" ideas and then back-ups with ideas if certain themes do pop up, but right now Im just thinking Major Failure will come up with something out of left field and throw me for a loop if I commit mentally to a theme idea.

Now, back to the shadows, where I shall continue to be dazzled by ya'll's writing and try to think of funny things to say afterwards.

  1. Good to know the ol' Barsquid is still around! Wonder what horiffic, probably-toxic cocktails he'll conjure up this year?

    1. "Now with added EVERYTHING. Pepperoni costs extra, but Gezora will add it even if you say no."

Barsquid after my heart. Great to see he's still doing fine.

  2. Wow, Gezora has a cool-sounding job. His reaction to the RP is pretty much what I expected: not against it, but unable to keep up with the sheer volume of it.

Funny thing about Gezora: I've noticed he's never able to be present for an entire tournament. He missed ZF4's semis, ZF5's final, and everything in ZF6 after round one. Poor guy.

  3. Gezora is glad to know it is remembered fondly by the patrons it hasn't yet consumed. Gezora will be back for the next tournament no matter how many dimensions it has to travel through, or spacecrafts it has to stowaway on and slowly pick off crew members one by one over the course of the movie until at the end it faces Sigourney Weaver or Kurt Russell in a 1-on-1 battle to the death, to get there! Gezora will make sure to bring plenty of monkey squeezings and caramelized orphans for some terrible new mixed drinks it has yet to invent but will be sure to put mold on your chest!

Seriously though, it's good to know I've been missed! Work has kept be super busy (I'm the Administrative Director of a new entomological research center) and as Jumpropeman already said I won't be able to be around very often this year (but what else is new :D) but I will make it a priority to bring the Big Squid back as often as I can. That's a Gezora guarantee!

Gezora never reneges on a guarantee, unless there isn't alcohol involved. Gezora can make no promises if it's sober.
